Dreaming Big

I guess I must like to work on big, long term projects but I’ve had one of my great but crazy ideas about knitting, another sock series to be exact. Apparently I really enjoy knitting these since I’m seriously considering another one next year after having finished my fellowship of the socks series.

I was thinking that it would be really fun/cool to knit myself a whole stack of yellow socks next year, maybe around 7 pairs so I have a whole week’s worth. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it here before but yellow is my favorite colour because it just seems like such a bright, happy colour and I like so many things that are yellow so that’s why specifically I was thinking yellow. I started thinking of this because I actually have 3 balls of nice sock yarn which I want to make socks out of and it just occurred to me that it might be nice to link them all together and make it a series because it would be really nice to have a bunch of yellow socks and it would look really good as a picture all together before I wear them and a sure way to make it happen for me is to make it one big project.

Here are the three balls of yarn I have so far, the top one is Riverside Studio Superwash Merino Nylon Sock in Goldenrod, the middle is Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock in Saffron, and the bottom one is Agrestal Yarn Grand River Sock in Butternut. They’re all super lovely yarns and I can’t wait to knit with them!

I guess I need to start looking for atleast 4 more balls of nice yellow sock yarn and patterns to go with them. I have a couple of ideas for patterns already but I’m still looking for some more, I’m thinking I would like a mix of all over patterned ones and ones with a more specific large scale pattern on them.

Any suggestions?
