Home Sweet Home

It has been a long and busy two weeks, working hard but doing cool stuff, but I’m finally back home. It’s so nice to enjoy the comforts of home again, a nice long soak in the tub, a good amount of time spent relaxing and a cup of good strong coffee later (I have been drinking the stuff that mostly tastes like water for weeks and am thourally sick of it) and I feel great! I’m also finally caught up on all the blogs that I read, I really missed being able to read them when I was away and I really missed being able to write my own too. On that note I bet you’re all dying to see what I’ve been up to for the last few weeks. (Spoiler, not as much as I had thought because I was so busy with work.)

First off I finished the Aragorn socks, though mostly that happened in the car on the way up and shortly after I had arrived.

I also finished the Thanksgiving socks (not sure if I’ve called them that here yet but the colours remind me of the foods we make for Thanksgiving dinner). These have a short row toe and heel which I really love, easy and fun to knit and fits me great.
I also started the Gimli socks which are about 3/4 of the way done now. Just look at that cable pattern, isn’t it lovely! These have been very enjoyable to work on and the cable pattern is very easy to remember after you have done one repeat. I might even knit annother pair of socks like this sometime.

And because I had leftovers and felt like knitting vanilla socks, I cast on a toe up sock with leftovers from the Thanksgiving socks. I think this is going to be a new class of projects for me, leftover socks. I will make single socks of all kinds with the leftovers from other projects and they’ll just be mix and match socks. I think it’ll be a lot of fun to knit and wear and I can try all sorts of different socks and patterns this way.

Now I can’t wait to get back to knitting on all my non sock projects and to get my hands on some fibre and my spindles again. Happy crafting everyone!

Edit: Apparently I’m totally scatterbrained because I totally took this picture with the intention of using it in this post and then forgot. Here’s how I looked for most of the past two weeks, trusty sock project at my right side ready for a moment’s notice of knitting time!

That Tom Binh project bag is fantastic for stuff like this, durable easily attachable and holds everything I need. I am very glad I brought it along!
