I finished another pair of fellowship socks this week, the Peregrin pair. Don’t they look fantastic!
The next pair I’m going to make are the Strider Socks but I think I am going to give myself a bit of a break inbetween to work on some other projects.
One of the projects I’ve really been enjoying lately is my current spinning project. It’s one of the beautiful fibres that was part of the gift I was given a couple of weeks ago and boy is it beautiful.
It’s camel fibre, and the softness is unbelievable! I always thought camels were scratchy animals ever since I rode one at the zoo when I was a kid but this stuff is probably the softest stuff I’ve ever touched in my life. It’s absolutely beautiful to spin and I’m sure it’s going to beautiful to knit from after too.
I also bought some new yarn for a shawl today, I finally had time to visit my lys and use the gift certificate that my parents gave me for my birthday. I decided on some Manos del Uruguay Clara in the colour Hueso. The colour is lovely and the subtle variations add a lot of depth and will keep the final object from looking too boring and plain I think.
I’m planning on making the Haystack Mountain Shawl by Beatrice Perron Dahlen with it. I think it will be a beautiful but very functional and wearable shawl and I’m very excited to get working on it.
