Work in Progress Wednesday: Blue and Gold Singles Done!

As you might have guessed from the title of the post, I finished spinning the first half of the blue and gold singles today.

I also wound them into a plying ball to save myself the headache of plying off of three different balls rolling around on the floor (did that once, never will again). And since I had access to a scale I weighed everything as well. The three ply yarn is actually going to be a 2 ounce ball right on.

I had a bit of leftovers from singles 2 and 3 so I ended up making a small amount of opposing 2ply and some regular nply.

You can really see how the opposing ply works in the 2ply, the one ply is wrapping around the other and it’s actually a pretty interesting looking yarn. I’m glad my singles weren’t exactly the same lengths so that I got to see how the 2ply looks as well.

I feel like I’m in the home stretch for this (half) ball of yarn now, I wonder if I can finish plying it before the end of February? Only one way to find out, happy spinning everyone!
